Edward Doyle comes from a family steeped in the Irish Horse tradition and has carved out a hugely successful career as a show jumping rider, trainer, breeder, and sales agent. The Doyle family is a household name and Edward has represented Ireland at both the European Championships and World Games.

Born in Dublin on the 9th of May, 1964, Edward started riding at the age of 4 and he began competing when he was 7, and burst on to the international show jumping scene when at the age of 16, he took the Pony European Title in Belgium in 1981 with the brilliant Connemara pony Ashfield Bobby Sparrow. With his first horse, James Bond, he won 5 National Grand Prix events in one season and headed up a class at the European Young Riders Championships in Donaueschingen, Germany in 1984.

Since those early years he has established himself as a regular member of the Irish side, and during the 90’s he was twice Irish Champion in 1995 and again in 1997, represented Ireland at the World Equestrian Games on the homebred “Love Me Do” and competed for Ireland at the European Championships at Hickstead in 1999 riding “Windgates King Koal” where Ireland gained qualification for the Olympic Games of 2000. That year also saw Edward win international classes at the CSIO in Dublin, CSIO at Hickstead, CSIO at Millstreet, CSIO at Calgary and finished runner up in the Hickstead Derby on the relatively inexperienced “Ears To You”.

In 2000 Edward was team captain of the winning squad at Athens CSIO again riding “Windgate King Koal”. During the early part of the 21st century Edward brought together a new concept to International Show Jumping, this was in the form of The Last Orders Club. This is a unique opportunity to experience the exhilarating thrill and excitement of International Show Jumping competition with Edward. The Last Orders Club is an ownership syndication managed by Edward and his wife Catherine.

The club in 2008 will be represented by Amigo, Arnold & Pamela.

This year has seen team Edward Doyle take on young rider Benny Kuehnle. Benny will take over the rides on a lot of our younger stock and has already proved a great addition to the team with 2 grand prix wins on the Guidam Spring Tour,  a win in the Mullingar 2* Grand Prix Qualifier, a win at the Blessington Premier League Grand Prix and finishing a respectable 11th at the European Young Rider Championship in Prague.

Edward Junior will also ride some of the younger horses and will be jumping some Grand Prix tracks this year.
